Homeowners Matt and Lara Hitchcock have a mismatched, muddy-colored dining room they never use except as a pass-through between the living room and kitchen. Host Karen McAloon helps them transform it with a Paris flea market feel by painting the walls yellow, stenciling the ceiling cove and rug, remixing an old door into a new dining table and decorating their mismatched chairs. The restyled room has a Shabby Chic look, but also a touch of Parisian glamour.
Before: Mud-Colored Mess
The homeowners were going for a salmon or pumpkin spice color on their dining room walls, but ended up with a blah mud color that fades away next to the rich woodwork.
