After: Paneled Walls
Angela got the modern, industrial looking kitchen she wanted while still being eco-friendly. The makeover is kept green by recycling the cabinets and using renewable materials like bamboo flooring. The cabinets are first primed black. A mixture of stain and a gel stain is applied and then a dry brush is used to achieve a wood-grain look. The window wall is paneled and a custom-made valance is hung over the window to house three modern pendant lights. The tired-looking back door is given a new industrial look. Aluminum banding is screwed onto the window frame. Then little wooden squares and circles are glued onto the door and painted silver to look like big rivets.
