Before: Neglected Old Shed
Brothers, 5-year-old Issac and 3-year-old Simon both love anything to do with trains. Their mom and dad, Karen and Conrad, want to give them a special place to play with trains. So, they have decided to turn their junk-filled, backyard shed (pictured, right) into a playhouse for the boys. Mom and Dad found photos of an old train station that used to be in their neighborhood. They would love to replicate the look of that old-time, authentic train station.

After: Train Station/Clubhouse
The worn-out old shed is brought back to life and now looks like a combination old-timey train station and bunk house. The inside of the new train station is equipped with bunk beds, a dumbwaiter for gravity experiments, a train table and a play kitchen. The rough walls and ceilings are covered in plywood and the boys’ grandpa rewired the place for lighting and electric. Designer Bobby "D" De Leonibus completed the rail-friendly makeover for under $1,100.
