Planetarium Ceiling

A planetarium ceiling is created so Justis can lie in bed and look up at the stars. To make the night sky, several pieces of foam board are painted black then small holes are drilled into them. Tiny Christmas lights are threaded into the holes on the foam board. The foam is fastened to the ceiling with the light cord strung to an outlet. Once plugged in, the ceiling twinkles like the night sky. To complete the outer space experience, an orbiting solar system light is suspended in the center of the ceiling.
