When designing a playroom, let go of typical furnishings. Bromstad brings in huge beanbags for sitting and lounging. They are durable furniture that can be easily moved around. Beanbags are just kid-friendly: They can be climbed on, jumped on, thrown around and played with. And you just can't have an ocean aquarium room without some large scale stuffed toys like an octopus or turtles.

If you've got permanent structures in your room, don't fight them. Bromstad makes a feature out of the posts. Using MDF he uses a jigsaw to cut the seaweed shapes to attach to the posts. It's a perfect way to add sculptural elements to a room. Let your imagination transform a space by incorporating permanent structures into your design.
