Kid’s Project: Fire Sconces
Previous: Castle Loft
Would you like to transform your kid’s room into a castle? Start with the lights. Travel back in time to when torches lit the halls.

Materials
two semi-circle wall sconces
gray paint
theatre light "gels"
sea sponges
scissors
hot glue

Steps
1. Lightly soak the sea sponge in the gray paint and dab on the outside surface of the wall sconce. Don’t use too much paint because it won’t have a textured medieval look.
2. Let the paint dry.
3. Using a scissor, cut the plastic gel sheets into the shape of flames.
4. Attach the plastic flames to the inside of the light fixture using hot glue. Make sure the plastic will not come in contact with the lightbulb.
5. Voila! You have torches! Attach the lights to the wall and then work on building the rest of your castle.
