Artistic Girls' Playroom

Three young sisters need a new playroom.

Before: "Yucky"
The Beeman family’s basement is full of old furniture and unused exercise equipment (pictured, right). Parents Peter and Elaine want it to be a dedicated space for their daughters Grace, Riley and Charlotte. The girls think the place is "yucky," they want more room to dance, have puppet shows and do art projects. Designer Valerie Thwing asked the girls what else was on their playroom wish list. They told her: a kitchen for tea parties, a putt-putt green, an ice skating rink and their own house.

After: Girly-Girl Playroom
The Beeman girls are ecstatic to see their new basement playroom. Sage green walls, pink accents and decorative touches surround a room full of activity that will keep the girls busy and happy. With the exception of an ice rink (too much maintenance), the sisters got all they wished for in their new room – a kitchen, an art table, puppet theater, a secret house, putting green and an area with stage curtains in which to perform.
