Project for Kids: Paper Puppets
Here is a fun and easy and way for kids to create their own puppets.

Materials
construction paper
pipe cleaners
glue
glitter
crayons
markers
google eyes
scissors
foam forms
feathers
pom-poms
confetti
plastic swirly straws

Steps
1. Choose your favorite colors of construction paper and cut out shapes of fun animals, characters or creatures. Perhaps a cat, a talking tree or a bulldozer. Let your imagination run wild!

2. Lay out where you want your character’s eyes, nose and mouth to be.

3. Gently glue on some google eyes, pom-poms, or draw the eyes. Let your puppet see what’s going on!

4. Now, using your crayons and other materials to add other facial features.

5. Once your puppet has a face, give it some pizzazz! Glue on some extra decorations, draw clothes or sprinkle glitter on glue where you want it to be glittery.

6. When you’re done decorating, take the swirly end of the swirly straw and glue it to the back of your puppet, so your character sits at the top of the straw.

7. Let it dry for about 30 minutes.

8. Your puppet is now ready for your show!
