Before: Rhombus Room
The Foss family – Mom and Dad, 8-year-old Nate, 6-year-old Connor and 4-year-old Jesse all love spending time outdoors. But, unfortunately, seasonal allergies often limit their outdoor activities. On the days they can’t enjoy nature, the kids hang out in their basement playroom, or as they call it – "the big mess" (pictured, right). Before the makeover begins, Interior designer Drew Seskunas asks the kids what they wish for in their new playroom. They answer: grass on the walls, trap doors, cushions and a ramp for sliding down.

After: Enchanted Forest
The great outdoors have been brought inside and all the children’s wishes have been granted! Two shades of green paint give the walls a grassy feel. The bi-level fort has an easy-open trap door, and a movable ramp can be positioned to slide down onto a pile of big blue cushions. The total cost of the project was about $900.
