Reading Cubbies
Three separate, color-coded reading areas are created for each boy. To make the dividers, closet-pole brackets are fastened to the ceiling and floor. Large pieces of canvas are hemmed down both sides then PVC pipes are threaded through the hem. The pipes and canvas are then stood up in the brackets. Inside each cubby, a bean bag chair and reading lamp make for a comfy reading spot. Basic clock mechanisms turn ordinary hubcaps into racy timepieces. Finally, shadow boxes and shelves are hung in each cubby giving the boys a place to display their toy cars and books.
