Day of the Dead-Inspired Bedroom

A Day of the Dead-inspired bedroom mixes rustic Mexican with classic tattoo art.

Design on a Dime : Episode DOD-1908 -- More Projects »
Tattoo artist Liz Von Blum loves her ink and the Mexican folklore of the Day of the Dead. Her bedroom, however, doesn't quite reflect either of those styles. The Design on a Dime team saves the room with new furniture, a color wash paint treatment and art displays that mix her two passions to conjure up a uniquely stylish space.

Before: Out of Sync Style
The Dilemma
The bedroom is a stark contrast from the rest of Von Blum's stylized apartment. Each piece of furniture in the bedroom is different in style and color from the others. She loves the jewel tones and rich colors in her duvet; unfortunately her kitties shredded the cover. Von Blum would love new bedding and a headboard. She's also interested in a real vanity for her makeup; right now she's using the top of a dresser. All of this with a Day of the Dead theme, please.
