The fireplace is spruced up with a new mantel, accessories and a flat-panel TV. To give the room a modern look and to break up the expansive height, mahogany wainscoting is installed. The mahogany panels are anchored with black baseboard and capped off with a chair rail made from a tropical hardwood called sapelli. The mantel is constructed using particle board but is covered in the same sapelli wood.
