This armoire is a great piece with lots of needed storage. To blend it in with the style of the room, Hopkins distresses the wood. A fast way to make wood look centuries old is to hit it with chains, which leaves dents. He also sands down the wood in different areas to create a worn look. A coat of primer, a base coat of yellow and then a topcoat of blue are applied to the armoire. Randomly sanding down the paint reveals the colors beneath and gives a weather-worn finish to the armoire.
