A large masculine bed is softened with a burgundy throw and canopy, and a curtain is placed to cover the adjacent room, making the room more private and intimate. The old mirrored closet doors didn't match the traditional style of the room, so they give them the look of old antique French doors with some black spray paint and mullions create a windowpane look. This formerly bland and boring space has been transformed into a sophisticated bedroom that's both handsome and romantic.

Chayse's Design Tips:

• Lightly spraying mirrors with black spray paint gives the look of antique glass.

• Give any chandelier a romantic look by adding shades.

• Curtain off adjacent areas to give a room an intimate feel.
