Almeida's knotty pine bookcase is replaced with two modular storage units that add 14 feet of shelf space while taking up less than five feet of space in the room. Because they will house expensive electronics, they must be very sturdy, so they are secured with both wood glue and screws. The edges are rounded for a softer, mod look, and the units are painted white. The units are screwed together and anchored to the wall for extra security.
