The luxurious, down-filled bedding in the designer room is made from the finest imported dupioni silk and is worth more than $2,000. The Double Take team replicates the look with $300 polished cotton and a sheet set that matches the base color of the designer comforter perfectly. The top of a basic duvet cover is removed and replaced with the polished-cotton flat sheet. The leftover fabric from the removed duvet top is used to make the square pattern on the new top and three matching Euro shams. After inserting a light down comforter into the duvet cover, the corners are sewn together for a tailored look. Tip: Polished cotton is a great alternative to silk. It has a very nice sheen that is similar to silk, is easy to care for and is about a quarter of the price. Remember, the higher the thread count of the sheets, the more luxurious the feel and look.
