Designer Keri Beyer brings color and warmth to a spare room that will function as both a guest room and nursery. The walls are painted a sunny yellow and the furniture is painted white. Bright floral and plaid fabrics dress the bed and window. The scarf / swag window treatment is created out of fabric ties and a swag of fabric stapled to the casing for a simple drape effect. Framed floral calendar pages decorate the walls. Accessories like beaded letters hanging from a peg rack and a teacup, saucer and spoon candleholder bring a bit of whimsy into the space.
The room is easily changed over to a nursery by replacing the twin bed with a crib, hanging a chenille star pillow overhead and placing a changing pad on the desk.
