Kitty Bartholomew tours the home of Blake Seaton, who was fortunate to find a good buy on a charming, New Orleans-style house in Hollywood, California. He shares how he used family heirlooms and his father's paintings to create an elegant and welcoming space.

The 11-foot sofa provides ample seating for guests. The dark burgundy is balanced by the beige walls and natural light. The wood floors are stained a medium green color to continue the flow from the green slate floor on the front patio.

The mantel features a faux finished marble design with eggplant and beige colors to match the sofa. Shutters on the tall French windows add privacy.

Instead of one large dining table, two side tables intended for a living room are situated to create a cozy cafe space in front of the banquette. Seaton arranged his father's cinema poster paintings overhead to add a touch of Hollywood glamour.

The cinnabar red walls are the perfect backdrop for the Western-style painting. The gold fabric on the windows and walls was found at a garage sale.
