Host Joan Steffend and designer Ann Sundet take a little girl's plain Jane bedroom to one fit for a princess. They do it with fun colors, homemade fabric decals, netting , cornice boards and a chair cleverly redone as a vanity. Walls are painted pink and striped with lime green. Removable decals are made by attaching colorful fabric to contact paper with spray adhesive. Dresser drawers are covered with the same fabric and contact paper technique. A chair is made into a tiny vanity by removing the seat cushion, putting a mirror on the back and attaching a skirt around the seat edge with Velcro. A canopy is made by mounting an embroidery hoop on the wall above the bed and draping netting over it. The windows are dressed with netting and cornices made from foam board covered with fabric and colored contact paper. Itemized Design Elements
