Before: Radiators don't do much for the aesthetic quality of a room. The homeowners would really like to see the radiator covered. They would also like a seating area in the room.

After: The radiator cover does the trick: the space is used to display more attractive accessories. Moving the desk to the other wall created a nook for a cozy seating area.

Before: The room lacks color and has a heavy feel from the dark wood trim. The homeowners are not too picky about colors but want the room to feel inviting.

After: Painting the wood trim a neutral color helps it blend into the room. Warm earth tones and luxurious silk fabric create a cozy, sophisticated atmosphere.
New homeowners Trish and Jerry Navarrete are proud of their first home. However, the guest room is a trouble spot. An odd floor plan, exposed radiator, random sconces and awkward fire escape door leave the couple perplexed. Student designer Jaime Joseph, however, sees these challenges as opportunities for creativity. She transforms the room with a custom bookshelf, tailored desk chair, attractive lighting and a neutral color palette. The Navarretes are so pleased with the outcome that they even consider using the guest room as their master suite!
