Host Joan Steffend and designer Nan Sloan take a bedroom from a little-boy look to a sophisticated teenage space. $19 - Paint
They start by painting two walls a light gray-green color.
- wall paint: Behr - Promenade, 400F-5
$161 - Upholstered Walls
The remaining two walls are upholstered with batting and fabric, which works to absorb some the sound from the boys drums. The batting is secured first with staples, then the fabric (which Sloan had already seamed together) is stapled directly on top of the batting. Painted trim is used to hide the rough edges.
$28 - Headboard
A headboard is created out of fabric and molding. Batting and fabric are stapled to the wall and gray-painted trim is used to frame it out across the top.$42 - Platform Bed
The bunk beds are removed and replaced with a queen-size platform bed that fits snugly into the wall recess.
