Easy, Elegant Headboard

Craft designer Renee Sparks demonstrates how to create an elegant headboard (see photo at right) without a lot of fuss.

Materials:

plywood
cotton batting (available at craft stores)
fabric
staple gun
drill
cabinet knobs

Steps:

  1. Cut plywood to desired shape and size.

  2. Cover plywood with cotton batting.

  • Wrap fabric around plywood and batting, attaching at the back with a staple gun (figure A).

  • Drill holes into the back of the plywood and attach the cabinet knobs, pulling them tightly into the fabric and attaching a screw in the hole at the back (figure B).
