About a year ago, Jacey and Ted Lucas purchased an old townhouse that has proved to be quite the fixer-upper. They began renovating one room at a time, turning their home into a construction zone. The didn't know where to starte when it came to the bathroom, though. Lucky for them, designer Krista Watterworth and carpenter Marc Bartolomeo have a plan that will permanently check this room off their renovation list.

This bathroom is number one on the couple's to-do list for a lot of reasons. The room is completely impractical and unsafe. The vanity is tucked in the corner, making it very tight and cramped, but the worst part is the electrical outlet over the sink. It is not grounded, so it is very unsafe to plug in a hair dryer! The homeowners can’t take a bath because the tub is too small and shallow. What's more, the glass block inset in the shower wall doesn't allow for privacy — someone on the other side can see right inside. This house lacks closet space, but not in the bathroom. To the right of the doorway is a large, very deep closet. The homeowners want to move their storage to a more practical place in the house. The room’s overhead track lighting is very bright and harsh. The homeowners joke that they need to apply sunscreen each time they come into the room.
