He Said, She Said Newlyweds Andrew and Robin Taylor are in a bind over their stuck-in-the-'70s master bathroom. Michael Payne arrives, and he and the couple discuss the decorating issues at hand. They are at odds over are the vanity (the number of sinks) and the placement of the toilet. At least they both agree the carpet has to go!
Shopping for Solutions
Payne discusses his designs for Robin and Andrew's bathroom, including the installation of a new whirlpool tub. He takes Robin and Andrew shopping at the Hydro Systems factory showroom to pick one out. Meanwhile, the demolition crew is tearing out the closet to make way for the new tub; the carpet, vanity and shower tile are also being taken out.
Next is a stop at Walker Zanger for new shower and floor tile. Payne and the couple decide that rather than going with stone, which can be very costly, a stone-look ceramic tile is more within their budget and still has the look they're after. Robin and Andrew compromise on a white ceramic tile with green accents.
A Happy Ending
Payne arrives at the Taylors' house anxious to investigate the newly transformed bathroom. He's astonished at the renovation! The new tub, shower with gorgeous ceramic tile and new location for the toilet make such a difference. Windows were installed over the new antique-looking one-sink vanity and the tub to create a sense of added space. The outdated carpet was replaced with the same gorgeous ceramic tile that lines the shower. The bathroom is now a perfect mix of contemporary and traditional styles pleasing both Robin and Andrew.
