Faux Mosaic Candle

clear contact paper
plum spray paint
pearl spray paint
rice paper in teal, purple and gold
paper cutter and scissors
Mod Podge
sponge brush
paint pens (gold and silver)
smooth, cylindrical glass vases

Contact PaperTechnique

Steps:

1. Wash and dry candleholders throughly.
2. Spray several coats of spray paint onto contact paper. Let paint dry between coats .
3. Cut out squares in desired sizes.
4. Peel the backing off and press squares onto candleholder in a mosaic style.
5. To create the grout, use a paint pen to fill in all clear areas on the glass.

Rice PaperTechnique

Steps:

1. Wash and dry candleholders throughly.
2. Cut out squares of rice paper in desired sizes.
3. Brush on Mod Podge, press a piece of rice paper onto area and add another layer of Mod Podge over rice paper. Do this all over candleholder. Let dry.
4. To create the grout, use a paint pen to fill in all clear areas on the glass.
