In the Pink: Dorothy Draper — America’s Most Fabulous Decorator
Born in a rich suburb of New York in 1889, you wouldn’t expect Dorothy Draper (nee Tuckerman) to make much of a mark on style. But indeed she did, first as the decorator of her own homes and then of others in her society. She vanquished the doom and gloom of the Victorian era and mixed bold colors and patterns until her death at 80.
