Steps:
1. Protect clothes and work surface.
2. Iron scarf to freezer paper.
3. Using erasable ink, stamp design randomly over scarf. This ink will disappear when it gets wet, but will provide a guide for applying the glue resist.
4. Apply gel glue following stamped lines (figure F). Make sure that lines are unbroken.
5. Once glue has dried completely, paint stars with red and yellow paints as desired (figure G). Dilute paints with up to 25 per cent water if softer color is preferred.
6. For the background: Mix azure blue paint with a small amount of white. Add water. Mist scarf with additional water. Brush on diluted blue paint, allowing color to flow but avoiding the painted stars (figure H).
7. Once scarf is dry, peel away freezer paper (figure I). Heat-set according to manufacturer's instructions.
8. After heat-setting, rinse scarf in cool water to remove glue residue.
9. Once scarf is dry, iron if necessary to remove wrinkles before wearing.
