Figure E
Designed by Lacey Oldham.

Materials:

glue gun w/glue sticks
9 oz. clear short plastic cup (softer plastic, not the rigid type)
scissors or craft knife
night light (preferably with a flat top)
assorted fabric and trims
satin roses, buttons or bows (optional)

Steps:

1. Cut the cup in half (figure A). Each cup will make two night lights. Set one half aside.

2. Glue a strip of fabric approximately 4 inches wide to the front of the cup, gluing the edges to the inside of the cup.

3. Glue the top edge of the fabric down and the bottom of the fabric to the inside (figure B).

4. Glue trim to the top and bottom as desired. Embellish with a bow, rose or button (figure C).

5. Apply glue to the top of the nightlight and adhere to the inside bottom of the cup (figure D).

Tips:
This is a great way to recycle odd items you have at home. Other embellishments can be used, like 4-1/2-inch wired ribbon, which can be pleated and then glued to the front of the lampshade (figure E). They make wonderful gifts for all ages.
