Materials:
foam stamps (#75000 Giant Fleur de Lis, #72140 Gothic Motif)
stamping paint (discontinued)
applicator sponges
illustration board cut as follows:
2 pieces (13-1/2" x 13") for front and back cover
2 pieces (12-3/4 " x 12-1/2") for front and back inside
2 pieces (13" x 1-1/2") for front and back spine
fabric (gold and burgundy)
trim (gold and black)
brass frame
cream parchment paper
fabric glue
archival-quality adhesive
Steps:
- After cutting illustration boards, make holes in spine with an awl or small drill. Apply adhesive to bookbinder's fabric and place along spine (figure A). Place something heavy on top to keep it flat.
- Cut burgundy and gold fabric to fit front and back cover; add one inch extra to top, side and bottom of cover. Add enough extra to spine side so the fabrics wrap around square.
- On front cover of scrapbook: Stamp giant Fleur de Lis with black paint, allow to dry.
- Clean stamp. Apply gold paint to Fleur de Lis stamp and stamp over black Fleur de Lis, slightly off register (to the right and lower).
- Stamp Gothic Motif in black paint on gold fabric. Repeat to complete design .
- Attach fabric to illustration board with adhesive (figure B). Repeat process for back.
- Use fabric glue to adhere trim and brass accents to front cover.
