Figure B

Tricia King of Long Beach, Calif., paints cans to look like Santa, gingerbread man (figure B) and other holiday characters. She spray paints the cans then hand trims the details using stamps, markers and sewing notions to bring the can characters to life. Next, she add dry ingredients for cookies in a plastic zip-close bag and places it inside the can with tissue paper. She finishes by hand printing the cookie recipe on the back of the can.

Peggy Parker of Glendora, Calif., shares her idea for stacked clay pot snowmen (figure C). She decorates the snowman with white crackle paint then uses hot glue to add on buttons and other notions to add the details. Adorable!

To make these guys, Watkins glues eyes, a red pompon nose, and wired garland or decorative pipe cleaner antlers to a wine cork. She finishes with a pin back to make wearable lapel pins or a chenille stem to fashion an ornament.
