Carol Duvall visits with Kevin and Sue Burns in Leland, Mich. The couple started making wool Christmas stockings, hats, mittens, and vests out of discarded wool clothing after Kevin accidentally washed a couple of Sue's wool sweaters.
Sue and Kevin Burns started using recycled wool to make clothing like this vest when Kevin accidentally shrunk Karen's wool sweater. The couple now own and operate a recycled wool clothing store called baabaaZuzu.
Baabaazuzu also makes mittens and stockings. Some of baabaaZuzu stocking designs come with pockets for extra stuff and zippers on the toe for easy access to all the loot.
Now, Kevin does the machine sewing and boils the wool while Sue takes care of the designs. Their products are available in some Midwestern stores. Their company, baabaaZuzu, is based out of their home.
Kevin Burns works at the sewing machine to create baabaaZuzu fashions. His wife, Sue, contributes with design.
