Travis Tuck, a metal sculptor who specializes in weather vanes on Martha's Vineyard , Massachusetts, is working on several different weathervanes for client's homes. He sketches and cuts the pattern for an otter weathervane, then supervises the cutting of copper for a goose weathervane. He talks about how he got started making weathervanes, the challenges of working in three dimensions, and the beauty of copper.

He uses a process called annealing to heat, cool and shape the copper into the shape of a goose's body, then welds and applies gold leaf to the body of another weather vane. He talks about working with copper, the creative process of making weathervanes, and why he enjoys his work.
