The Flower Pot Stencil Collection: TSG175 - Girly's Flowers, TSG183 - Ashley's Tea Party

Steps:

  1. Remove any stickers or tags attached to the bucket using Un-Du adhesive remover.
  2. Sand the surface of the bucket with sandpaper so the paint will better adhere.
  3. Wash the bucket thoroughly with a vinegar/water solution to remove sanding residue and any oil on the surface.
  4. Apply a base primer of Bond-Aid or metal primer. If using Bond-Aid, go to a well-ventilated are and spray the painting surface with two to three coats, allowing for recommended drying time in between coats. If using a metal primer, brush on two coats, allowing the first coat to dry before applying the second.
  5. If base coating with metal primer, apply two coats of gesso. If using Bond-Aid, skip this step.
  6. Paint on base color of choice using the flat artist brush. Add a little water to the brush if the paint seems to become dry. Apply two to three coats of paint to adequately cover the bucket. Allow at least 15 to 20 minutes in between coats of paint .
  7. Allow paint to dry for several hours then add stencil designs as desired.
