3-inch circle
6-1/2-inch circle
1-inch letter templates
5/8-inch spiral and 5/8-inch circle punch
stickers: gater, frog, hippo, rose, ladybug and letter stickers
black checkered paper

Steps:

  1. Cut three-inch and 6-1/2-inch black circles. Glue the black circles to the page for the ladybug head and body.
  2. For the wings, cut a 6-1/2-inch red circle. Cut the circle in half. Punch eleven 5/8-inch circles from black paper and glue the dots to the red half circles (wings).
  3. Place the wings on the body, oberlapping the points at the back of the head. Punch a small hole through both the wing and body layers. Position a brass brad through the hole in all layers to secure. Glue a black circle over the brad.
  4. Punch two spiral shapes for the antenna and glue in place at the head.
  5. Using letter templates, cut letter from checkered paper and back with red paper. Glue to the top of the page. Apply stickers.
  6. Draw ladybug trails using a black permanent marker.

Bee Hive

Materials:

album page
Canyon Cutters - Appalachian Trail scissors
stickers: bees, flowers, 3/4" letters
paper: gold dot, blue, green, brown and gold
black and green permanent markers
brass paper brad
brown pastel chalk

Steps:

  1. Prepare page with gold dot and blue paper. Cut 1" x 6" brown base for hive. Use scissors to cut grass. Draw lines on grass with green marker. Glue hive base and grass to page.
  2. Crop photo and glue just above base. Cut beehive from gold paper. Use a finger and brown pastel chalk to shade hive. Place hive on page and punch small hole at top of hive. The beehive is attached with the paper brad, leaving it free to swivel and show the photograph.
  3. Apply bee, flower and letter stickers. Apply one bee sticker to brad. Draw bee trails with black marker.
  4. There are lots of different ways to make Peek-a-Boo pages. This is an example of an insert page between two scrapbook pages. It peeks through from one page to another.

Tips:

  • Pocket pages are a clever way to save invitations, tickets and other mementos.
  • These instructions work best if you cut 3/4" paper off.
  • Draw a fine line with a pencil and put the outside edge of scissors on line to use as a guide.
