flat gold cord
round gold cord
jewels
cabochon stone settings
filigree

To prepare the egg:

1. Put the blown egg on a dowel.

2. Apply pearl white paint to the pre-scored egg (figure A).

To paint background design:

1. Hold the egg with two fingers at the top and your thumb placed at bottom center of the egg. The larger side of the oval is the bottom.

2. Paint every other triangle at the top edge with lavender paint. On the bottom triangles, move over one space and continue to paint every other triangle in lavender, so that no two triangles, side by side or end to end, are the same color.

3. Paint periwinkle blue below the lavender triangles and fill in the remaining triangles (but not the diamond shapes) with periwinkle blue paint.

4. Paint the large diamond shapes gold (figure B).

5. Repeat this process with a second coat of each color and let dry 15 minutes.

To apply adhesive:

1. Apply an even coat of Deco Brush-On adhesive with a 1/4" flat brush in one periwinkle blue triangle and fill with periwinkle glitter. Repeat on remaining periwinkle triangles and let dry 15 minutes (figure C).

2. Apply adhesive on one lavender triangle and fill with plum pink glitter. Repeat on remaining lavender triangles and let dry 15 minutes.

3. Brush adhesive on a gold diamond and add lion's mane glitter. Repeat on remaining diamond shapes (figure D).

To attach round gold cord:

1. Hold cord around egg and trim to fit.

2. Using a metal tip on the adhesive spout, apply a thin line of Dries Clear adhesive to the scored ring around the design band around the egg. Let adhesive set up 30 seconds to a minute (figure E).

3. Place the cord around the egg. Use a toothpick to move the ends to meet exactly. Repeat on the scored ring around the other end of the design band (figure F).

To attach flat gold cord to slant lines (top right to bottom left):

1. Cut about 2" of cord at an angle to fit along the diagonal slant between the round cord.

2. Apply Dries Clear adhesive to one diagonal slant. Move with toothpick to set in place.

3. Apply flat cord to remaining diagonal slants (top right to bottom left only ), one at a time, with same procedure (figure G).

To attach flat cord to slant line sections (top left to bottom right):

1. Cut flat cord in approximately 1" sections to fill the diagonals between the round cord and the flat cord you've already attached. Remember to cut cord ends in angles.

2. Apply the adhesive as above and place the cord sections on the remaining diagonals (top left to bottom right), moving with a toothpick to connect with previously attached flat cord (do not crossover) (figure H).

Adding jewels and filigree:

1. While the cords are drying, glue jewels into cabochon settings with Dries Clear adhesive. Let set up 10 to 15 minutes.

2. Add a large dot of Dries Clear to the back of each setting. Using a Sticky Stick to pick up the jewels, attach them at each intersection of round and flat cords and in the center of each gold diamond shape. Let dry 15 minutes.

3 Add glue to the back of the filigrees (do four at a time to allow proper set -up time). With tweezers, place one on each blue and lavender triangle, next to the ring edge (not toward center of egg).

4. Finally glue and position shorter, flat side of filigree to space just above and just below jewel that was placed in the center of each gold diamond shape (figure I). Let dry 30 minutes.

Finishing the egg:

1. Apply adhesive to the edge of the dome shapes. Let set up a minute; then attach to the top and bottom of egg. Let dry one hour.

2. Add rings to the top of the dome ring and a tassel at the bottom using needlenose pliers (figure J).

Voila! A beautifully elegant, glittered goose egg!
