Botanical Tiles

Materials:

one sheet of Loose Ends French Lilac Calypso paper - #27265
one sheet of Loose Ends Cantaloupe Calypso paper - #27247
one sheet of Loose Ends Lime Slush Calypso paper - #27255
24" x 36" cork bulletin board
26, 4" x 4" wooden tiles (figure A)
138 star pods
three sunflower pods
hot glue gun
white glue and water mixture

Steps:

1. Divide the four-inch tiles into two groups of nine tiles and one group of eight tiles.

2. Tear paper into medium-sized strips.

3. Dip the strips into the glue mixture.

4. Apply paper strips to the tiles, one color per group. Let dry.

5. Hot glue six star pods on each of 23 of the tiles (figure B), starting from the middle and working out.

6. Hot glue the sunflower pods to three of the tiles, one on each color.

7. Glue the tiles to the perimeter of the bulletin board, alternating the colors (figure C).

8. Place one sunflower pod tiles on the top perimter of the board, one on the side and one at the bottom.
