1. Select a shipping pallet, preferably one that is not made of oak or equally heavy woods. Lighter woods are easier to cut with a band saw.

2. Remove select boards from the pallet using a crowbar and hammer or simply cut them with an electric saw.

3. Sketch out the dog shape on a selected piece of wood.
