From Custer's Last Stamp comes a double-sided stamp that creates an envelope.
Even though I do not consider myself a true rubber stamper I must admit to being fascinated by all of the toys that they have to play with . . . and I want every one! Today we showed some of the more recent products introduced on the market.

First on today's list were some stamps from Custer's Last Stamp that look for all the world like marcasite . . . especially when stamped using black ink and glitter. In other softer colors they have a totally different almost bubbly look. Very attractive. We showed just a few from a new line designed by owner Debra Anderson.

Also from Custer's Last Stamp is a two-sided stamp that stamps out an envelope that can be cut out, folded and glued to a card, a gift box or any flat surface. It is dimensional . . . about 1/4 inch deep . . . so you can fill it with flowers either real or stamped or photos or even a little note.

More envelopes from American Art Stamp. Their Stamp-A-Lope has the outline for three differently sized envelopes on one stamp. Ink up the one you want then stamp and cut out. These not only allow you to make differently sized envelopes but different styles depending on how you fold them. Very cute.

From cute to really interesting the Block Series from Stamp-It! If you are not a hardcore rubber stamper you might wonder what in the world these are for--stamps that have nothing but outlines of squares--big ones, little ones . . . three in a row . . . nine in a square. What? What you do is stamp the outlines then tape outside the lines with a specially measured tape to mask off everything outside the lines. Stamp designs or pictures over the already stamped squares using some of Stamp-Its specially designed stamps or use your own. Then color in if desired. When all is done remove the tape and you have a most interesting effect . . . a total picture divided into individual squares. Guess you have to see it to picture it.

From Coronado Island Rubberstamping are Bloomers! These are fun. The stamps themselves are all alike . . . swirls in different sizes. After stamping an image, cut out as indicated by the dotted lines on the stamp then using their special "holding tool" (similar to a tweezers) grab the cut-out at the outer edge and start to roll. Before you know it you have a flower! Different effects can be obtained by using scissors with different cutting edges (those scissors you've been using for your scrapbooking) or by rolling tightly or loosely or partially. These can then be used anywhere you might use any paper flowers. They also have some charming rubber stamps of bouquets or vases full of flowers. Stamp the image then cover the stamped floral images with the dimensional flowers you made. Very clever!

Then, from Journey Stamps is their line of Destination Stickers and Stamps. Wherever you travel, wherever you live there is a stamp to say so. There are stamps for each of the 50 states, many cities, and many slogans . . . "The Windy City" for Chicago, etc. There are also little packets with four individual stamps. You stamp the first part then fill in the second with an appropriate destination stamp. Great for personalizing gift bags or packages and perfect for all of you scrapbookers.

From Ranger are two new foam pads that can be used as is or cut up into smaller pads. One is for spreading with acrylic paint and the other for permanent inks. Each are backed with a backing to prevent the paint or ink from bleeding through to the tabletop! The pad I demonstrated is the one for acrylic paint. There are many of the larger solid image rubber stamps as well as foam stamps that can be used with acrylic paint but usually the fine line stamps don't work with the heavy paint. Now they will. Apply the paint (either one or several colors) to the stamp pad, press the stamp to it then stamp. Even the most detailed stamps will reproduce beautifully.

Stampa Rosa recently introduced a new line of stamp pads that rumor has it have been creating quite a stir in the stamping world. Called "Fresco," their chalk finish is very beautiful and stamped images really do resemble pastels. Lovely effect.

From Stampassions a line of stamps designed by Bunny DeLorie who is known for her trompe l'oeil wall stencils. On a much smaller scale but every bit as effective are these rubber stamps that really need two stamps to create the effect. A window or porthole stamp plus a background scene stamp. Stamp a window on the front of a card, cut out the "glass" areas then stamp the scene on the inside of the card. Put an acetate window in the glass or porthole if you wish to add to the effect. Fun and very clever. Different too.
