With the addition of some simple stencils, this table has a whole new look.
Designer Donna Babylon demonstrates a stenciling technique that can hide imperfections on furniture, tie mismatched furniture together, or add new life to old pieces.

Stenciled Table

Materials:

any neglected table
light-colored spray paint
repositional adhesive
dark-colored spray paint
any stencil design

Steps:

  1. Sand and prime the table.

  2. Cover the entire surface with a light-colored paint and let dry.

  3. Spray repositional adhesive onto the stencil and place in a preferred design pattern.

  4. Cover the entire surface with a darker-colored paint and let dry.

  5. Remove stencil material and enjoy.

* Note: This technique works well on all types of surfaces, not just wood. Try this same technique on fabric, such as a sheer curtain.
