real wood, suede or leather
wooden box
small wooden frame (with large, flat stamping surface)
scissors
crafter 's glue
watercolor pens
acrylic paint markers
wood stain markers
gold or silver markers
Tips:
- When choosing a surface to decorate, remember to use real leather, suede or wood . Vinyl and faux or fabricated leather, suede or wood will melt.
- Take care to rest branding tool on its stand. For added safety, tape the stand down to hold it in place while working.
- When using very hot tools, be careful not to touch the tips with bare skin or gloves to avoid being burned.
- Do not let the children play with these as they can cause injury if not handled properly.
Steps:
Wood Box:
To stamp on wood, hold tool vertically and press straight down for one to two seconds . Practice on a scrap piece of wood beforehand to get a feel for how to apply the tool.
Combine different designs to decorate a box and stain the wood before or after decorating.
Frame:
For a frame, use various designs and watercolor pencils, wood stain markers, acrylic paint pens and gold or silver markers to color-in open areas of burned design.
Spray with acrylic or wood sealer when finished, if desired.
Candleholder:
Cut a piece of suede to the shape of a flat holder and glue onto the wood (use crafter's or hot glue).
Practice on a scrap of suede to get the feel for this tool beforehand. Holding the tool upright, press straight down and hold until satisfied with design.
