Hair Bow Materials:
3/8 yard of fabric
spring clip hair barrette with tension bar
wire
hot-glue gun
Steps:
- Cut a piece of fabric 7-1/2 inches x the width of the fabric and serge or hem the long edges.
- Match the two short ends together and stitch to create a circle shape.
- Position circle, right side out, with the seam centered on the bottom.
- Open barrette clip and remove the tension bar. Next, start gathering the fabric by hand from both ends into the middle.
- Wrap wire around the middle of gather to secure it, then attach the fabric to center of barrette clip using the wire.
- Cut a strip of fabric 2" x 4" and attach to the center of the gathered fabric to cover the wire. Wrap the two ends to the back side of the gather and glue in place with a hot glue gun. Let dry.
- Pull fabric back from side of barrette and place a small amount of glue on the ends of the barrette clip. Place fabric back down on clip. The glue will attach to some of the fabric folds, which will help cover the barrette completely.
- Replace tension bar.
