Lace & Chenille Purse

Materials:

10" x 18" piece of chenille
6" dyed fabric and Battenberg doily
4" crochet doily
yard of 1" trim for purse strap
5" of 1/8" ribbon 3/4" button
matching thread

Steps:

  1. Measure and clip at 4" on both 18" sides of the chenille piece. Turn all there sides under 1/4" and hem to form the flap. Hem the opposite 10" edge.
  2. Place the large doily right side up along the hemmed edge of the flap. Center the 4" doily on top of the large doily. Sew both doilies in place.
  3. Fold the hemmed edge to the bottom of the flap with right sides together. Sew the sides with a 1/4" seam. Turn right side out and press.
  4. Place the trim inside the purse and stitch in place for a strap. Sew a loop of ribbon to the flap as a closure. Sew the button on the front of the purse.
