Project designed by Sandi Genovese.
Materials:
Ellison slider card die or scissors
cardstock-weight paper, any color
decorative Ellison die cuts
decorative stickers
acid-free adhesive
press on letters
Steps:
- Using Ellison die-cut equipment or scissors, cut the slider card from the card stock and fold on the perforations. Fold the panel with the slit inside.
- Decorate the cover according to your theme. It is important to add press-on letters to the cover at the center bottom to indicate "lift first."
- Open the card completely and tuck the slider into the slit. Slide the slider all the way to the left to find the area that will be hidden when first opened. This will also show the area on the right for lettering. Decorate the hidden area with photo or die cuts. Add lettering as needed for your message. Note: Make sure photo or decoration is concealed when returned to its primary position. Decorate with stickers as needed.
- Attach a photo or decoration to the tab of the slider. Line up the photo with the left side of the tab.
- Slide the slider and close the card. Use press-on letters to indicate "pull" on the exposed area on the right side of the slider.
- To use the slider card as a greeting card, address the back side and mail. It fits in a #10 envelope.
- To use the slider card as a scrapbook page, fasten to the page in a way that hides the photos when you lift the flap and slide the insert. Attach to the scrapbook page with acid-free adhesive and decorate the rest of the page.
Tip: If you use page protectors, slide the completed page into a top-loading page protector. Use a craft knife to cut the page protector around the sides and bottom of the slider, leaving the top intact.
