Steps:

  1. Adhere cover pieces of mat board to Metals paper with PVA adhesive and trim the edges. Punch holes along the sides of both spine pieces with the 1/16" circle punch, as shown in the template. Lace Saddle Stitch pages on one of the spine pieces with line thread (figure A).

  2. Sponge twill tape with Chocolate Chip and Really Rust ink. Punch circles in the center of the second spine piece of mat board, and tie the handle on with the twill tape. Tie two pairs of hinges together with linen thread, to fit the width of the spine (figure B).

  3. Apply PVA adhesive to the inner side of the spine piece, place hinges inside as well, and attach the two spine pieces of mat board together. Stitch the pieces together with linen thread, creating the complete spine (figure C).

  4. The pages are attached by sliding a page under each thread (figure D).

  5. Sponge Ephemera background stamp with Always Artichoke, Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, and Really Rust ink, and stamp on front and back cover pieces. Stamp Aged to Perfection pieces in Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip and Really Rust ink on the top right corner of the cover. Sponge cover with Really Rust, Always Artichoke, and Chocolate Chip ink (figure E).. Attach front and back covers to the hinges in the spine.

  6. Stamp Headline Alphabet "A" in Always Artichoke ink on the front cover. Punch 1/16" holes in front and back covers, and tie washers onto covers with linen thread. Sponge twill tape with Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, and Really Rust ink. Slip twill tape through washers and tie book closed.

  7. Sponge twill tape with Really Rust and Chocolate Chip ink. Stamp Letterpress Alphabet "D" in Basic Black ink on twill tape. Attach Hodgepodge Hardware buckle, and secure twill tape in place on the front cover.

  8. Stamp Alphabets in Really Rust, Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, and Always Artichoke ink on Kraft card stock. Punch out letter "D" from each color with 1/4" square punch. Attach to Kraft tag. Stamp Stencil Alphabet "D" in Really Rust ink on tag. Write "D" in Basic Black ink on tag. Sponge edges of tag with Really Rust and Always Artichoke ink.
