When Marilyn Maddalena was asked to judge a quilt competition in Russia, she jumped at the chance. Russiona quilts often feauture towns and fairytale characters. This quilt is called the Don Juan quilt.

The Russian-made Santa quilt is special because it uses unexpected fabrics and features extra little touches. The snowflakes on the quilt are made from doilies. The nose is embroidered.

Maddalena's quilt guild is now the sister guild for one group of Russian quilters. They created this quilt to send to their Russian sisters.
