Longtime hand quilter Amy Belue recently started stitching with a thimble which she finds challenging. Expert Alex Anderson explains that many hand quilters are accustomed to quilting with the thimble on their middle finger. Anderson recommends that Belue wear the thimble on her index (pointer) finger. Wearing the thimble on the index finger may feel awkward at first, but with time and practice she will grow accustomed to wearing the thimble on her forefinger. Anderson insists it will make a world of difference in her hand-quilting projects. Try it!
