We're making the eighth section of this 12-month quilt project—the Pinwheel block row.
Welcome back to the eighth month of Isabella's Garden! Sometimes a row and sometimes a bordered block, this 12-month project is tackling one section at a time. This month, we're making the Pinwheel block row.

For this section, you'll make one row of four Pinwheel blocks. Employ your favorite technique or follow these instructions.

Materials:

two complementary fabrics

Steps:

  1. Cut 16, 2-7/8-inch squares, eight from each color to create A and B units.

Figure A
  • Place a unit A and unit B right sides together and mark a diagonal cutting line. Mark a line 1/4" from the cut line on either side as stitching lines (figure A). Stitch on both stitching lines, cut on cutting line and press toward dark fabric. The unit measurement is 2-1/2 inches square.
