1. Cut a small right triangle at the end of each strip (figure A).

2. Sew all of the strip sets together to produce a parallelogram (figure B).

3. Pin and sew the bottom strip of the parallelogram to the top strip (figure C), forming it into a tube. Ease in enough flatness to work as you make your way around the tube.

4. Fold the tube flat. Align the bottom of a 6" x 24" ruler along the fold of the tube and the 45-degree line of the ruler along one of the seams (figure D). Trim a scant edge off of the tube using a rotary cutter and cut through both layers of the tube. Accurately cut continuous-strips (figure E) through both layers of the tube.

5. Line up pairs of continuous strips. To make one pattern rotate the right strip up (figure F). To make another pattern, rotate the right strip down (figure G).

6. Pin and sew all of the continuous strips together into pairs. Iron all of the seams open.

7. Sew all of the pairs together until the desired width (figure H) is achieved.

8. Cut across the tube at a right angle (figure I) using scissors to cut through one layer of the tube.
