Almost Human Quilt

Materials:

orange, green, gold, purple and blue fabrics

Steps:

Center star
1. Cut star points from four 4-3/8" x 2-1/8" strips of orange fabric by cutting a diagonal line (figure A) from bottom left to top right (figure B).

2. To create center triangle of star points, fold four 3-7/8-inch squares of green fabric in half and finger press (figure C). Cut from center to bottom left and then from center to bottom right (figure D).

3. Sew points to either side of background to make star sides. Make four units for center star (figure E).

4. Cut four 3-1/2-inch squares of green fabric and one 3-1/2-inch square of orange fabric.

5. Assemble block (figure F).

Outer star
1. Cut one 3-7/8" x 44" strip of gold fabric into eight 3 -7/8-inch squares. Cut those squares once diagonally into 16 half square triangles (figure G).

2. Cut two 4-1/4-inch squares each of gold and purple fabric. Cut these squares twice diagonally into quarter-square triangles--four of each color (figure H).

3. Cut eight 3-1/2-inch squares of gold fabric.

4. Cut two 3-1/2-inch squares of purple fabric (figure I).

5. Cut two 3-7/8-inch squares of blue fabric. Cut these once diagonally into four half square triangles (figure J).

6. Assemble blocks (figure K).

7. The remaining borders are made up of 3-1/2-inch squares of green and blue fabric (figure L).
