The original tortilla quilts were made from old flour or seed sacks in Mexico. Those seed sacks are extremely hard to find these days, but you can still make this delightful quilt with colors that are inspired by the vibrant colors of the Southwest.

Cutting instructions for one block:
One 3-1/2" square
Four 2" x 3-1/2" rectangles
Four 2" squares
6-1/2" squares (alternate block)

Basically the tortilla quilt is an elongated nine patch. Simply lay the pieces out as shown and sew together (figure A) or click on the slideshow to see how it's done.
